New build family home above a functioning dental practice
Set between the gable end of a residential block and the imposing brick structure of the church of Christian Science, within the heart of the conservation area we were asked to design a new family home built off the roof of the clients dental practice.
We adopted an introverted approach, stepped back from the main building lines, creating a walled garden to street and roof terrace to rear. Primary steel structure with large glazed panels were concealed behind mild steel mesh cladding which knitted the context during the day but invigorated the space at night through light and movement.
Council applauded design with full support and commendation. Design, planning, tender.
